In all parts of India, weddings are celebrated with a lot of pomp, fun and frolic. Apart from this, the most important part of Indian weddings is the rituals performed by the bride and groom. Some of these rituals are performed before the wedding, some after and some at the time of the wedding.
In some states, the bride does not wear any clothes after marriage, while in some states the entire family tears the groom’s clothes. In some states, the groom is welcomed not with flowers or garlands but by hitting him with tomatoes. Different traditions and rituals are followed in different states of the country. There are some traditions that surprise you.
Today we are going to tell you about a village in India where the bride cannot wear any clothes in the first week of marriage. During this time, the husband and wife can laugh and joke with each other. Not only this, both are also kept away from each other.
Let us tell you that this tradition is still followed in Pini village of Manikaran valley of Himachal Pradesh. Apart from this, the groom also has to follow some rules. In Pini village of Himachal, only the bride remains without clothes after marriage. However, the bride can wear only a belt made of wool during this time.
This rule is somewhat similar to the tradition of women of Pini village to remain naked for 5 days of Sawan. Here, women and men follow some rules during the 5 days of Sawan. While women do not wear any clothes for 5 days, men do not drink alcohol during this period. Men cannot even touch alcohol here in the first week after marriage. It is believed that if the bride and groom follow these customs, they get good luck.
